Dinosaur FAQ

Being the main attraction in this wonderful 'park', we figured that the dinosaurs of Jurassic World deserved their own FAQ. Listed below are all of the dinosaurs found in the world with links to their wikipedia pages for more information about each species.

HERBIVORES
Triceratops
Stick close to water/coastal areas. Like Stegs, they will venture into the forests to nest.
Stegosaurus
Stick close to rivers and lakes. Will venture into denser forest areas to nest.
Parasaurolophus
Prefer swamps and marshlands.
Ankylosaurus
Stick close to water/coastal areas.
Brachiosaurus
Can be found near rivers and lakes. Prefer large open areas where they can easily move about.

OMNIVORES
Pachycephalosaurus
Stick close to water/coastal areas.
Gallimimus
Like open plains and rocky areas that provide suitable protection for their nests.

CARNIVORES
Velociraptors
Stick to rocky/sandy areas.
Tyrannosaurus
Will travel all over. Tend to have set game trails and a single nesting area.
Dilophosaurus
Stick close to rivers and swamps.
Compsognathus
Prefer dry, rocky areas. Will venture into forests in search of food.
Pteranodon
Travel all over. Nest on cliffsides in large family groups.
Deinonychus
Prefer forests and swamps.

This list will grow as time goes by and more areas are discovered. Any dinosaurs listed under herbivores and omnivores are fair game as far as encounters go. We don't mind if you play one of the listed dinosaurs in an encounter situation or mention that your character spotted a herd of them. In a situation where there may be a stampede or something of that nature though, the mods will be in charge of handling what the dinosaurs do during that time.

As for the carnivores, unless discussed before hand, these dinosaurs will all be mod controlled. Many of them will be used for event purposes but sometimes, depending on what's going on, we may just have some of them drop by for a visit just because. Or maybe a group of characters accidentally stumble upon a nesting ground. Whatever the case may be, these dinosaurs are going to provide quite the challenge for residents.
